This is Ty, my 1992 Solectria Force, as seen from the front steps of my house as I begin my walk. It is high summer in New England, a perfect day.

 

Oh no! It's a fierce green-eyed predator!

 

The former New York and New England (afterwards New York, New Haven, and Hartford) Woonsocket Division, which I cross on my way to the pond.

 

Once again the oddly shaped house comes into view just over the Wellesley town line.

 

And here again is the old pumphouse on the aqueduct.

 

Rosemary Brook looks tranquil this morning.

 

After a short walk through the woods, I arrive at the pond.

 


Here there is much duckweed but no ducks. I did hear the occasional green frog, though.

 

Following the path around the pond, I come to this butterfly meadow. I see no butterflies here, but lots of bees.

 

Looking back toward the road, the pond looks utterly peaceful.

 

The path from the bumblebee meadow enters some woods.
