Return to Cutler Park, page 3
7 May 2006

From here Millennium Park, across the river in West Roxbury, can be seen in the distance. West Roxbury is part of the city of Boston.

I find some unusual decorations on this power pole near the railroad embankment.

Here are more decorations on the power pole. The power poles here are made of steel.

The path ends at the bridge carrying the railroad across the Charles River into West Roxbury.

This is a view of the river looking south (upstream) from the railroad embankment. At the right is the mouth of the Long Ditch, which bypasses a wide loop in the river in the town of Dedham. The Ditch was dug in 1654.

Lily pads dot the shallows of the Charles.

In the distance, a canoeist can be seen navigating the Long Ditch.

The homeward path beckons.

"Yes, there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run
There's still time to change the road you're on."

I love the springtime.
